History
After much time in seeking the Lord and hearing His call to His people of our generation (2 Chronicles 7: 13-15), in 2007 God gave favor and opened the door of the Alumni Center at Columbia International University for the body of Christ to gather across racial, ethnic and denominational lines to pray for revival of the church, spiritual awakening in our communities and transformation of lives in the Greater Columbia area. Thus Greater Columbia Call to Prayer was born and to that purpose we have been gathering for prayer. We are committed to labor in prayer for God's Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. (Luke 11:1-13)
Our prayer times are led by the Holy Spirit as we worship the Lord and seek His face together. We also pray for one another and opportunity is given for individual prayer needs.
At the conclusion of our corporate prayer time the additional opportunity is given to go out into the Greater Columbia area to prayer walk, pray for folks and witness.

Co-Founders – H. L. and Janie Allen
H. L. and Janie Allen are residents of Lexington, SC who have been called to Prayer Ministry.
In their passion for Jesus, their hearts are that we as Christian believers would come to the desire and ask, “Lord, teach us to pray…” (Luke 1:11) As God has grown their hearts in prayer and following the Lord in obedience, He has given them the desire to pray corporately with others as His Word instructs.
The Allens were called to full time ministry in early 2007 and co-founded Greater Columbia Call to Prayer with a focus on praying for revival of the church, spiritual awakening of our communities and transformation of lives in the greater Columbia area.
They are involved with assisting and organizing corporate prayer gatherings in their local church and throughout the greater Columbia area, some of which are connected to state, national and world-wide prayer gatherings.
H. L. grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of twelve. In August 1962, he was ordained as a deacon in the Baptist Church. H. L. graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Civil Engineering. After a varied career in industry, real estate and highway transportation design God redirected his life to full time ministry.
Janie grew up in a Christian home and after a life growing up in church gave her life to Christ at the age of twenty nine. Janie graduated from the University of South Carolina with an undergraduate degree in Education and a master’s degree in School Guidance Counseling. After a career in teaching and school guidance counseling God redirected her life to full time ministry.
